Sign up for the seventh CHILLS session, Friday, April 11 from 4pm to 6pm in Furman Hall, Room 430, for public interest career and academic advice, a morale boost, camaraderie, and fun.
Lauren Burke, an energetic and inspiring NYU Law ’09 alumna, Founder of Atlas: DIY, Developing Immigrant Youth, and PILC Practitioner-in-Residence, will be hosting CHILLS every Friday. Each week CHILLS will offer wine and cheese and a chance to chat with Lauren and a rotating group of NYU Law graduates who are now public interest practitioners.
To join the CHILLS event on Friday, please RSVP through CSM/Symplicity (search “Song Kim” for this week on the Events tab).
This week, Lauren will be joined by Song Kim ’13. Song is a Kirkland and Ellis Fellow at the Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund working with the Anti-Trafficking Initiative. Song graduated from NYU School of Law, where she served as a Co-Chair of the Asian Pacific American Law Students Organization. During law school, she took every opportunity she could to live and travel abroad. Song spent time in Korea working on North Korean human rights issues and in India bringing traffickers to justice. During law school she interned at the New York Asian Women’s Center working with trafficked and battered women and youth, and was also involved in the intersection between community organizing and legal advocacy at Center for Popular Democracy, and immigrant detention at the Legal Aid Society.
