NYU Law Office of Global Programs is pleased to announce that there will be a second application period opening for the Spring 2015 iteration of NYU Law in Shanghai.

Students interested in applying to the NYU Law in Shanghai program are encouraged to contact Faculty Director Frank Upham for more information about the program. The NYU Law in Shanghai program website is also a helpful resource for information about courses in Shanghai and the faculty members who teach in the program, including Professor Owen Nee, Senior Counsel at Greenberg Traurig in New York and Shanghai, and Professor Chenguang Wang, Dean of Tsinghua Law School in Beijing.

NYU Law in Shanghai also features a wide range of extracurricular opportunities for students, including a weekend trip to Beijing and numerous events, lectures and activities designed to help acquaint students with the local legal community and life in Shanghai. These offerings include cooking classes, language courses, visits to local NGOs and businesses, and trips to Chinese court sessions. For more information about student life in Shanghai, please visit Life at NYU Law blog, where student blogger Kathleen Kaffer ’15 writes about her semester in Shanghai.

The application period will re-open on Friday, August 29, 2014 and remain open until Sunday, September 7, 2014. Successful applicants will receive nominations to participate in the Shanghai program or to be placed on a wait-list by Friday, September 19, 2014.  Final student decisions will be due by October 1, 2014.

All interested 2015 2L or 3L students, regardless of past admission status or application history, are encouraged to apply. Second-round applications will be evaluated independently of any prior application.
