The competition is a year-long program which includes hands-on boot camps, workshops, individualized feedback from coaches/mentors. The program is a refinement process which provides content rich feedback to all. Competition participants learn critical startup skills such as how to build a solid business model, determine the right product/market fit and pitch investors. Teams compete for $200,000 in seed money and additional venture services.
Over 500 students, faculty and researchers from across 14 NYU schools entered the competition. This year’s semi-finalist teams comprised members from 11 NYU schools. Over the years several law students were part of Semi-finalist teams and winners. Last year Kenneth Brent Villa, Pinch, competed in the semi-final round.
To facilitate networking we host a Teammate Hunt. This event is a great way to join a start-up venture or meet others who can help take one of their ideas to market.
