The mission of the US Department of Justice (DOJ) is to, among other things, enforce the law and defend the interests of the United States according to the law. The mission of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), one of the many investigative agencies within the Department of Justice, is to protect and defend the United States against terrorist and foreign intelligence threats, uphold and enforce the criminal laws of the United States, provide leadership and criminal justice services to federal, state, municipal, and international agencies and partners, and collect intelligence in support of criminal and national security missions.

The US Department of Defense’s (DOD) mission is to provide the military forces (such as the US Army) needed to deter and successfully execute war and to protect the security of the United States. What do the DOJ / FBI and the DOD have in common? Plenty of lawyers! The focus of today’s presentation is to provide you an overview of the FBI and the US Army and discuss with you (1) the roles attorneys play in both organizations, and (2) the unique skill set attorneys bring to the table.

Feel free to bring your own lunch.
