We are excited to announce an information session for all journals and student groups interested in receiving funding for academic programming for the 2015-16 school year. Funding for these programs is given out once a year through a competitive application system with funding decisions made by the Student Intellectual Life Committee (comprised of faculty, administrators and students). The application deadline for this year is March 1, 2015.
The chairperson of the Student Intellectual Life Committee will be holding an information session for all journals and student groups interested in applying for funding for the 2015-16 school year on November 11 at 11:00 a.m. in Furman Hall room 316. Any group interested in submitting an application should send a representative to this meeting.
Please note that the committee has been renamed this year and no longer is called the “Symposia Funding Committee.” We have determined that many full-day symposia do not serve the needs of the community at the Law School particularly well. This year the committee wants to open up the application to a broader variety of programs including shorter academic panels, brown bag lunch series, film showings, workshops, roundtables and other kinds of events that might appeal to students and serve our community. The most innovative programming will likely get the most positive reaction from the funding committee. Applications that seek funding for symposia will still be accepted.
