NYU will be nominating students to the World Bank’s Legal Analyst Program (LAP), expected to commence in September 2015. The Terms of Reference are linked here:

Corporate Finance Practice Group (LEGFI)
Institutional Administration Practice Group (LEGIA)
Regional Units

If you did not apply to LAP through the IFD Fellowship application and would like to be considered for nomination by NYU, please send the below materials in a single PDF file to John Lee at johnl@nyu.edu by Friday, November 28, 2014.

  • Resume
  • NYU unofficial transcript
  • Statement of interest (no more than 500 words). Your statement of interest should specify which of the three groups you would like to apply to.

The World Bank Legal Analyst Program (LAP) is designed to introduce talented young legal professionals from around the world to the World Bank. Legal Analysts are given a three-year appointment with the Legal Vice Presidency, which is expected to commence in September 2015. The World Bank is seeking Legal Analysts across three groups: the Institutional Administration Practice Group (LEGIA), Regional Units, and the Corporate Finance Practice Group. For more information, please refer to the Terms of Reference.

NYU will nominate up to six students for LAP—two for each of the three groups. Nomination by NYU does not guarantee that you will be accepted into the program, as the World Bank makes its own determination through a highly competitive process. NYU students have historically been competitive.

Applicants for LAP must have a minimum of one year’s legal work experience after graduation from their first law degree, and preferably no more than two years’ legal work experience.  If applicants have slightly more than two years’ experience (i.e., three or four years), they may still be considered.

Important: If you have already applied to LAP through the IFD Fellowship application process, please do not apply again.
