 NYU SSLD Fellowship

Developing Social Sector Leaders of Color

The NYU SSLD Fellowship is an 18-month leadership development program that equips graduate students of color from with the skills, knowledge, and networks needed to take up leadership roles in organizations across the social sector.

Current SSLD fellows represent various NYU graduate programs, including the Global Institute of Public Health, Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development, Wagner School of Public Service, Stern School of Business, Silver School of Public Service, and the NYU School of Law. Their interests range from founding social ventures to running governmental agencies. We believe the racial, ethnic, and intellectual diversity of our fellows enhances the cohort experience and helps form enduring support networks that they can rely upon over their professional careers.

Fellows will:

  • Learn leadership development theories and explore challenges facing the social sector
  • Develop cross-sector leadership skills
  • Build a strong community with peers from across the University
  • Enhance their professional networks
  • Receive personalized career support and coaching
  • Gain special access to Leadership Initiative events and speakers
