Please join the NYU Law Real Estate and Urban Policy Forum in welcoming the Gibson Dunn real estate practice for a roundtable discussion over lunch entitled “The Anatomy of a Deal: Hudson Yards and other Exciting Projects Re-shaping the Real Estate Landscape.” The real estate practice at Gibson Dunn handles some of the most complex and high profile transactions in New York today and all 1Ls that are potentially interested in practicing real estate law should be sure to attend.

Eric Feuerstein, partner

Mr. Dady focuses his commercial real estate practice on debt and equity finance, sales, acquisitions and development.  He represents a wide range of clients, including developers, lenders, institutional investors, landlords and significant tenants. Mr. Dady is ranked as one of the leading real estate lawyers in New York by Chambers USA:  America’s Leading Lawyers for Business. Mr. Dady received his Juris Doctor from Columbia Law School in 1989, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and his Bachelor of Arts from Cornell University in 1986.

Joanne Franzel, partner 

Ms. Franzel’s practice has included all forms of real estate transactions, including acquisitions and dispositions and financing, as well as office and retail leasing with anchor, as well as shopping center tenants. She also has represented a number of clients in New York City real estate development, representing developers as well as users in various mixed-use projects, often with a significant public/private component. She handled the site acquisition for the Atlantic Terminal Shopping Center in Brooklyn, New York, on behalf of the developer, Forest City Ratner Companies. This included negotiation of a long-term ground lease and construction agreement and related easements. The project includes a 300,000 square foot retail shopping center located on a development pad built over a Long Island Rail Road and MTA subway station. Ms. Franzel received her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania in 1980.  She received her Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, in 1977 from Brown University.

Steve Klein, partner

Mr. Klein’s practice covers a broad range of real estate transactions, including acquisitions and dispositions, joint ventures, financings, leasing, construction and development, restructurings and recapitalizations. He also has substantial experience in REIT offerings, REIT mergers and formation of investment funds. Mr. Silvera’s practice concentrates on acquisitions and dispositions, joint ventures, financing, development projects and commercial leasing. Mr. Silvera has handled transactions for clients that include RXR Realty, NorthStar Realty Healthcare, IDB Group, Brickman Associates, Fremont Realty Capital, Centerbridge Partners and Tishman Speyer.  Mr. Silvera is ranked among the top real estate lawyers by The Best Lawyers in America©Before joining Gibson Dunn, Mr. Silvera was a partner with Fried Frank, where he practiced since 1995.  He is a 1995 graduate of Columbia Law School, where he was a James Kent Scholar and a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar.
