Looking for opportunities to complete the 50-hour pro bono requirement after the Bar exam? PILC is working to establish pro bono placements for alumni during August 2015, which will be posted periodically to Symplicity. Please check Symplicity regularly (starting now), using these instructions:
- Log onto your Symplicity From the homepage, click on the “Jobs” tab.
- Click “Advanced Search.”
- Under “Position Type,” select “Legal: Pro Bono [for students ONLY]” and under “Class Level” select “LLM Student.”
- Click the Search button.
- If you would like to view all placement opportunities in one document, click the “+” sign above the first listed placement and click “View Printable Job List.”
All of the NYU Law-sourced opportunities will come up labeled as “LLM Pro Bono Placement” or “Pro Bono Placement.”
Please do not wait until close to August to find summer pro bono placements. Many organizations want to hear from applicants as soon as possible after the position is posted to Symplicity, so you should log in on a regular basis. Some pro bono placements have already been posted.
