The Faculty of Law of the Universidad de Chile will host the fourth annual Civil Law Student Congress in Santiago, Chile which will run March 16 – March 18, 2016.
The Civil Law Student Congress, first held in 2009, aims to position itself as a thinking and analytical space for the leading problems and global trends of the Civil Law, while striving for the participation of prime Chilean and foreign academics and promising professionals.
Each of the three days of the IV Civil Law Student Congress will be split in two sections: the first one will be held during the morning and will consist of expositions of previously selected papers sent by students. The papers will be analyzed and commented on by teachers or invited lawyers. The second section will take place in the afternoon and will take the form of sessions in which the invited academics, both national and foreign, will discuss matters such as Liability, Property Law and Consumer Law.
The organizers would like to extend a call for papers for the Congress to the students of NYU School of Law. If interested in participating, the student should send the paper to the email address contacto@congresocivil.cl before November 29th of 2015. The guidelines are available in www.congresocivil.cl/convocatoria-a-trabajos/
Visit the Congreso Estudiantil de Derecho Civil YouTube channel to see weekly testimonials of previous participants. At this link you will find a subtitled video of the testimony of one of the students who participated on the first version of the Congress in 2009 and who is today a Professor at the Universidad de Chile.
