Monday, February 1, 4:00 – 5:30 p.m., Snow Dining Hall, Vanderbilt Hall
The Office of Career Services will be hosting a panel and networking reception for law firms that will recruit for their London offices during Early Interview Week 2016. Representatives from four law firms will sit on a panel to discuss career opportunities in London, followed by firm tables for a networking reception that showcases the London offices interviewing in EIW 2016.
Students may consider asking firm representatives the following questions:
- For what practice groups do you interview in London?
- Is the summer program in London comparable in substance/training to your US offices?
- How does the entry level training program in London compare to your US offices?
- Can you describe the career path for an attorney who begins his/her career in London?
- Can attorneys transfer to other overseas or US offices if they have started their careers in London?
- How are London attorneys evaluated for partnership? Is this decision made in the London office or firm-wide?
- How many summer associates do you hire for the London office?
- Is the goal to extend 100% offers to summer associates?
- If one spends the 2L summer in a US office, can one request to be considered for an entry level position in London?
This program is not intended to request resumes and transcripts in advance of the Early Interview Week program. Light refreshments will be served. Please RSVP via the events tab on CSM if you plan to attend. We look forward to seeing you there!
