Register now to attend the annual OUTLaw Alumni Reception on Thursday, January 28, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in D’Agostino Hall, Martin Lipton Hall, located at 108 West Third Street. This event provides a wonderful opportunity to meet and reconnect with other OUTLaw alumni and students. In January 2013, OUTLaw established a tradition of honoring its distinguished alumni annually for outstanding professional achievements or advocacy for the LGBTQ community.
This year, the OUTLaw Alumnus of the Year Award will be presented to Iván Espinoza-Madrigal ’05, executive director at Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights and Economic Justice, for the outstanding achievements that have characterized his career and for his exceptional contributions to the LGBTQ community.
OUTLaw brings together NYU Law students, alumni, faculty, and staff who self-identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer (LGBTQ) and allies. OUTLaw sponsors educational events throughout the year, keeps the Law School community informed on legal issues impacting LGBTQ rights, and raises the visibility of LGBTQ people within the legal profession. OUTLaw advocates for inclusion of queer perspectives within the Law School and works in partnership with allies within the school and beyond to end discrimination in all its forms.
