Deadline for submitting the Sudler Family Fellowship application for those 1Ls and 2Ls who have secured a summer internship at a federal or state prosecutor’s office is Friday, February 19, 2016. The Sudler Family Fellowship will support approximately ten NYU Law 1Ls and 2Ls spending their summers at state and federal prosecutors’ offices. This fellowship is available only to students who have already secured summer internships at federal or state prosecutor offices throughout the United States. Sudler Family Fellows will receive $8,000 instead of a regular PILC grant, and will participate in a special 3-hour training program on April 18, 2016 from 4pm – 7pm, which will include meeting with Peter Sudler, a former Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Southern District of New York, whose generous commitment to supporting NYU Law students who wish to become prosecutors is the driving force of this program (which is now in its second year). The selection committee for Sudler Family Fellows will include former and/or current prosecutors who are connected to NYU School of Law. To apply, please send a resume and personal statement (1-2 pages double-spaced) on why you want to be a prosecutor (including identifying the office at which you will be spending your summer), to pilc.info@nyu.edu, with the subject line “Sudler Family Fellowship,” by Friday, February 19. It is optional to append an additional one-paragraph statement on how you will enhance the diversity of the profession. The Sudler Family Fellows will be notified of their acceptance by Friday, March 11. If accepted as a Sudler Family Fellow, your attendance at the special training program on April 18 is mandatory.
