The NYU Annual Survey of American Law will dedicate its 73rd Volume to Associate Justice Sonia Sotomayor of the United States Supreme Court. The ceremony will take place at the Law School on Monday, February 8, 2016, in Greenberg Lounge, located on the first floor of Vanderbilt Hall, 40 Washington Square South. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. A reception with Justice Sotomayor will follow.
We have invited colleagues and friends of Justice Sotomayor to give tribute to her. The speakers will include Chief Judge Robert Katzmann of the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit; Judge Guido Calabresi of the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit; Judge Deborah A. Batts of the US District Court Judge for the Southern District of New York; and Dawn M. Cardi, Founder and Partner at Cardi & Edgar.
Regular seating will be available in Greenberg Lounge, but because the event will be very well attended and capacity will be limited for security reasons, please arrive early. There will also be an overflow room where the proceedings will be live broadcast for those who arrive after capacity in Greenberg Lounge is reached. The formal ceremony will be followed by a reception, also set to be held in Greenberg Lounge.
