About the Workshop
When we asked NGOs what they wanted to know about data visualization, they said: show us the tools!
The Center for Human Rights and Global Justice and Tandon School of Engineering are pleased to host Dash Davidson, a Data Analyst at Tableau Software, who will demonstrate Tableau’s powerful suite of data visualization tools.
Tableau offers family of interactive data visualization products to help people see, explore, and understand data. The tools can connect to any kind of data — databases, spreadsheets, and big data sources — and can visualize it on the fly. Data can be combined into interactive dashboards, reports, realtime analysis, or the creation and publication of interactive charts and maps.
Tableau Public is available to use for free at https://public.tableau.com/
The workshop is part of CHRGJ’s research program that looks at the ways in which human rights groups can use data visualization to enhance the impact and effectiveness of their research and advocacy.
About the Speaker
Dash Davidson has always been interested in data, starting in High School in Brooklyn when he created a projection system for baseball stats with his Chemistry teacher. He graduated from Stanford in 2014 and now works for Tableau, helping people visualize data.
