About the Talk

The Global Justice Clinic welcomes Fredy Peccerelli, Executive Director of the Guatemalan Forensic Anthropology Foundation (FAFG), to NYU Law. FAFG uses forensic science to contribute to the four pillars of transitional justice in Guatemala: truth, justice, reparation, and non-recurrence. Fredy will discuss FAFG’s multidisciplinary strategy to search for the disappeared and victims of Guatemala’s internal armed conflict, and explore the FAFG’s inclusion in Latin America’s largest case of enforced disappearance against several top military and political  figures in Guatemala.
A link to his Ted talk can be found here. An article about the work of FAFG’s work, entitled, “Enforced disappearances, mass murders, and elusive justice in Guatemala” can be found here.
