The NYU Jessup International Moot Court Team will be holding tryouts this coming Friday at 2pm for all JD Students and LLMs interested in competing.
The Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition is the largest and most prestigious international law moot court competition in the world. Over 550 law schools from more than 80 countries participate in the competition. The competition allows students to argue a fictional dispute between two countries before the International Court of Justice, the judicial body of the United Nations.
The NYU Jessup team has had a great deal of success in the past, culminating in last year’s first place finish at the Northeast Regional (defeating Columbia in the final argument). NYU then advanced to the final round in Washington D.C. for the first time in ten years. The team is looking for individuals who are interested in moot court and international law to try out for this year’s Jessup team. No familiarity with international law is required, only a desire to compete and a willingness to learn.
If you are interested in trying out please email Michael Whalen at nyu.jessup@gmail.com and the tryout materials will be forwarded to you. If you are interested in trying out and are unable to come Friday afternoon, please note that in your email and an attempt will be made for an alternative arrangement.
