Dear LL.M. students,
We want to make sure you know that registration for the PILC Fair will be closing on December 1. If you are interested in public interest work, we urge you to register soon at http://pilcfair.law.nyu.edu/. The Fair will take place on February 6-7 this year.
While we think the Fair presents a valuable networking opportunity for you, we want to make sure that you know that it is not the public interest equivalent of ISIP. The Fair is primarily a tool for 1L and 2L JD students to find summer internships. Over 200 employers will attend the Fair, but the vast majority are looking only for volunteer interns. Last year only 10 employers (4%) interviewed for post-grad, paid positions. An even larger proportion of employers focus on domestic public interest. There are typically fewer than five organizations that do international work.
If you are particularly interested in domestic public interest work, we urge you to make an appointment with Sara Rakita, or come to her drop-in hours on Fridays, from 3:30-4:30. If you have general questions about the Fair or about registration, feel free to email us at pilcfair@law.nyu.edu.
We will give you more updated information about specific employers attending the Fair after winter break. In the meantime, good luck with finals and feel free to come by if you have questions!
Best wishes,
PILC
