On Thursday, November 21, the U.S.-Asia Law Institute (USALI) Lunch Series will feature Ms. Guo Jianmei one of China’s first public interest lawyers and a leading women’s rights activist. In 1995, Ms. Guo established the Center for Women’s Law Studies and Legal Services of Peking University, China’s first legal aid clinic dedicated to providing legal aid to women, and remained the director of the Center until 2010 when the program was canceled by the University. Prof. Ira Belkin, our executive director, will talk to Ms. Guo about her diverse experiences in the fields of public interest law and NGOs in China, among other topics.

The lunch talk will be held on Thursday, November 21 from 12:30-1:45pm in Vanderbilt Hall (40 Washington Square South), Room 202.

Please RSVP by Tuesday, November 19 at 5:00pm to Judy Yi Zhou (judy.yi.zhou@nyu.edu) if you would like to attend.
