The Faculty of Law at the University of Copenhagen is pleased to announce another edition of the Copenhagen Competition. The Copenhagen Competition is an international negotiation competition in which students from all over the world simulate real multilateral negotiations. Previously, it was limited to law students, however, in light of the current trends in research and scholarship aiming to break down the barriers between different scientific areas, the competition is now truly inter-disciplinary and is linked in with the 2014 IARU Congress on Sustainability Science which takes place immediately after the competition. The competition will run from October 20-21, 2014 and the IARU Congress on October 22-24, 2014. The topic changes every year and is chosen in collaboration with senior officials from international organizations like the WTO. This year’s topic is the “Sustainable Energy Trade Agreement (SETA).” The team must consist of 2-4 students at the Bachelor or Master level. One must be from “Hard” Science and one must be from law. The other two are optional and can come from any field of study. Each team can have as many coaches as they please. The Copenhagen Competition comprises two rounds: A written and an oral round. The written submissions deadline is May 1, 2014. Should the team qualify for the oral round, the competition will cover airfare, meals and accommodation for the students and one coach.
Application Deadline: Pre-registration for the competition is due as soon as possible, ideally by December. Final registration and written submissions are due May 1, 2014.
