245 Sullivan Street, Furman Hall, Room 212

2L’s and 3L’s ONLY: You are invited to participate in an Emotional Intelligence (EQ) training led by Vice Dean Jeannie Forrest on Wednesday, January 29, from 12:30-1:45 p.m. in Furman Hall, Room 212.

EQ, also known as “the other kind of smart,” involves a skill set that many lawyers have come to recognize as the key attribute of true leaders in the legal profession. Increasingly, legal employers are screening candidates based on their demonstrated ability to manage themselves and relationships with others. They want to know that they are hiring someone who has the ability to work well with a broad range of personalities in a variety of settings.

This interactive workshop will help you to hone the skills of self-awareness and social awareness so that you are better equipped to manage the many and varied professional interactions that you will encounter throughout your career.

The January 29 session will comprise Part I of the training and those who participate will be invited to participate in Part II at a later date in February. Participants also will be offered the option to take a confidential electronic EQ assessment through TalentSmart, an independent consultant at no cost. This tool will help you to identify your personal strengths and weaknesses so that you can focus your efforts in developing EQ skills throughout the academic year.

RSVP required.

Please CLICK HERE to register no later than Monday, January 27.

Access to this event is by invitation only.
