 - Would you like the opportunity to review and master your favorite law school subject areas?

- Do you want to contribute to the Law School community while earning some extra cash?

- Do you have good communication skills and a knack for teaching?

If so, we need YOU! The Office of Student Affairs offers a tutoring program for J.D. and LL.M. students that urgently need student tutors. As we face a challenging employment market, we want to ensure that ALL of our students continue to have the maximum number of options. Assisting a fellow student who is seeking to improve their performance is one way you can help.

If you agree to act as a tutor, you will be included in our tutor registry. When a student asks for assistance in a particular class, we will then match him or her with an appropriate tutor. We may also call on you to assist with general skills tutoring areas such as note-taking, outlining or exam preparation. Tutors are paid by the Office of Student Affairs and are compensated at the rate of $12 per hour, the same rate of pay that Research Assistants receive. Hours for tutoring sessions are arranged between the tutor and the tutee, but students typically receive 2-3 hours of tutoring per week.

Please let us know if you are interested in being a tutor by sending an email to law.studentaffairs@nyu.eduWhen responding, please include the following information:

(1) Your Name

(2) Your University ID Number

(3) Your NYU NetID

(4) Your Class (2L, 3L, LL.M.)

(5) Your Phone Number

(6) List the classes in which you wish to tutor. For each course, include the name of your instructor

(7) Indicate if you would be willing to help in general skills tutoring areas such as note-taking, outlining or exam preparation

This is a great opportunity to make a difference by dedicating just a few hours a week to your fellow students at the Law School. Your help will be greatly appreciated. If you have any questions about the program, please email the Office of Student Affairs, at law.studentaffairs@nyu.edu or call 212-998-6658.
