Karen Ross, a member of the Graduate Lawyering faculty, is available for appointments from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. every Friday while regular law school classes are in session. Students may sign up at the Office of Graduate Affairs (340 Furman Hall) for individual 20-minute appointments with her.
Professor Ross will assist students in improving study skills, and developing strategies for reading cases and approaching work assignments that arise in the law school experience. She is also available to provide resources on writing and grammar and review the general structure of writing assignments such as reaction papers or seminar papers. Papers will not be read in advance, but feel free to bring a paper or writing sample to the session for comments on structure, style, and organization.
If you are having difficulty in a specific subject area, a subject tutor (upper-level J.D. student) may be available to assist you. Note, however, that requests for tutors in advanced courses may be difficult to fulfill. Information about the tutoring program and a form to request a tutor are posted here.
